Dear Bert & Kate,

How nice to hear from people in Littleton, CO! We lived in Colorado 10 years, first in Divide (high above Manitou Springs) and then in Littleton (Acres Green Subdivision). We moved to Virginia in 2001. We heard you had early snow. :o) We're now in Virginia.

HISTORY OF SCHUYLER & BROWN COUNTIES, ILLINOIS 1686-1882

On pages 303-304 of this book there is a short history of John J. Taylor which matches the one you outlined for me. Let me know if you already have this history. If not, I'd be happy to type it up for you.

I highly recommend that you contact the Versailles Area Genealogical & Historical Society http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilbrown/brnadd.html. They can supply obituaries and other information we do not have access to.

Hope these listings are of help to you.

Subject: Cemeteries of Brown County Lookup

Please know that we appreciate the help you are willing to provide other researchers.

We live near the Denver branch of the National Archives and will happily do a lookup or two for you there.

My wife has a number of ancestors in the Morgan/Scott/Brown county area. On the Brown county USGenWeb "permanent resident" page we found her gg-grandmother:

Eades, Rachel C.  315

Would you please check this entry in the Cemeteries of Brown County, Illinois for us when you have time.

Also, we are seeking data on my wife's TAYLOR line. Her gggg-grendfather John TAYLOR was born in MD and came to Morgan county in 1829. He's in the 1850 census as 100 years old, so probably died fairly soon thereafter. His son James TAYLOR was born in 1791 in MD and supposedly died either at "85 years of age" or in 1880, according to two conflicting sources. We've been unable to locate a grave for either. The listings below found on the Brown county site are of interest if any are even an approximate fit for either of her TAYLOR ancestors.  We did check reponses to previous queries to avoid duplicate lookup requests.

Taylor John H   9

Taylor J   34

Taylor James Edward   34

Taylor John   146, 407

Taylor John J   237(2), 374

Taylor John E   374

Thanks for your help!
