1870 Census Error Found
I have found what I believe to be Clark and Sarah Glenn Lindsey in the 1870 census. The trouble is, Clark himself IMO has been the 'victim' of a census error-NOT transcription, but on the actual page. (heh-Just to add to the fun, this particular enumerator seems to have found yet another variant on the surname spelling, also.)
page 4 in Ripley Township, dwelling 26, family 26, lists Sarah Lindy, farmer, with oddly spelled but plausible names for her children of that time. At dwelling 25, family 25; there is a George W. Taylor, wife Harriet ,with family in the usual order of ages except for the last-just above Sarah on the page, there is one Clark Taylor, age 49- right for Sarah's husband-but born ostensibly in New Hampshire, which makes no sense at all-(unless enum bollixed up New Brunswick?? if he came from there?) Speculation aside, I believe this Clark Taylor to actually be Clark Lindsey of Canada. I am putting here the ancestry transcriptions to hopefully support my reasoning.
