Dear Sherry,

When I check the burials for people, I often check other records to verify relationship, including marriages. I have listed the marriage of Preston and Sarah, in case you don’t already have it. Sarah, according to the cemetery record, is the sister of William. This family is found in the 1850 census in Mt. Sterling, Brown County. After checking our own census and the same one from Ancestry.com we have discovered that we made the same mistake they did when we transcribed this family. We misread Sarah’s age as 77, when (as we now look more carefully) we can see it is 17. This is definitely your Sarah Queen, b. 1833 in Tennessee. Her parents are Richard and Elenor, and her brother William is 9. If you go to the page (http://www.rootsweb.com/~ilbrown/1850_Census/Brown_County_1850_Census191.html#fam8) before tomorrow you will still see her listed as age 77, but by Monday this will be corrected. Ancestry.com, however, will still have it as 77, and the town as Westerling – so many errors!

On pages 471-472 there is a Bell family listing. According to this record, Preston was the son of  James Bell (1803-1841) and Ann Lester. James was the son of  Robert Bell (b. 1772 Virginia – d. 25 Sep 1858 Missouri Twp, Brown co, IL)) & Jane Anderhan/Anderson (b. 1780 PA). their known children: Catherine (b. 1797) md. Thomas Beard; John (1800-1882) md. 1) Elizabeth Miller, 2) Elizabeth Carter; James (1803-1841) md. Annie Lester; Ira (1808-1876) md. Eliza Jane Smith; Sarah (1810 - ?) md. George Simmons; Richard (1812 - ?) md. Winifred ___; Patsy (1817-1892) md. Ichabod Perry; Emily (1818-?) md. Calvin Hurst; Rebecca (no dates) md. Rodney Porter.

If you want the details of this listing, I can scan the two pages and send them to you. Just let me know.

Please let me know if I can be of any further help.
