My name is Willard Haugen, I live in Syracuse, Utah. I am researching Noble Willis Reeves, a distant relative on my son-in-law's side of the Reeves family. In the process of this research, I have come in contact with Joan Detlofsen and she has given me his father and his mothers names (John Reeves and Susan Harmon). Here is what else I know about him: he was born about 1829 in Fleming County, Kentucky. He lived in Brown County, Illinois in 1861. During the Civil War, he traveled from Brown County to Pike County, Illinois and joined the 27th Illinois Infantry Regiment (Volunteers). 16 Aug 1861. He re-enlisted as a veteran and transferred to the 9th Illinois Infantry Regiment in Apr 1864. He was mustered out 9 Jul 1865 in Louisville, Kentucky. I am hoping that maybe his parents John Reeves and Susan Harmon resided in Brown County during this time frame, also. I am not able to find Noble or his parents in any other Illinois documentation, census, marriage or death records. He married Mary Jane Rooks 16 Oct 1875 in Sullivan County, Missouri. They had four children. He died in Sullivan County 14 Jan 1884 and is buried in Deeds Cem. They are in the Missouri 1880 census. His son John Noble Reeves is the connection to my son-in-laws mother Marietta Reeves, born in Modesto CA., 27 Oct 1940, since passed away and the family does not know any genealogy on the family. I am looking for ANY other info that you might have that would verify the connection of the names of his father and mother and where they were from, i.e., residence, ages, parents, etc. Were they from Kentucky ?? Did they ever live in Illinois ?? I find several John Reeves living in Brown County during this time frame that could fit, however not with a wife named Susan (Harmon), or a child named Noble. Was Nobles middle name Willis ?? I have exhausted every possible source I can find at the Family History Library in Salt Lake City, Utah. I hope you can help me.
