Rebecca,

Here’s what the Cemeteries of Brown County, Illinois say about this burial:

“For years there was located one branch stone at the edge of a deep woods. At one time an old road ran nearby. Some people by the name of Grove lived on this land and this was always known as a Grove burial. Mr. Silvey Koch remembered it as a child but the stone could not be located in August 1973, when Robert and Maridilee Lawson were attempting to find it.”

Sincerely,

Ken Huffman

From the list of cemeteries index, there is this entry:

Grove burial, p. 81

It looks like it is under the Versailles cemetery list.

I’m wondering if this isn’t a member of the Groves family.

Thanks, Rebecca
