NAMES: Schultz, Seckman, Taylor

In The History of Schuyler & Brown Counties, IL, p. 223-224 there is a biographical sketch of Jonathan W. Seckman. In it his daughter Kate (Kathryn/Kittie/Kitty) is mentioned. It says she was married to William Schultz and was living in Nebraksa (1888). There is more genealogical information on Jonathan Seckman, and I can type it for you if you want it, but it will have to go to the bottm of the pile and take a few more days.

In Cemeteries of Brown County, IL, p. 47, I found a child of William and Kathryn:

Logan Creek Cemetery, Cooperstown, Brown Co, IL
Nancy Schultz, daughter of W. & Kathryn Schultz, died 23 Aug 1868, age 11 months & 11 days

I went out to the Schuyler County website (GenWeb) to see if Robin had typed in any other Seckman information for the Biographical Review (Brown, Schuyler & Cass Counties) and found a biographical sketch of Nancy (Taylor) Seckman, wife of Jonathan W. Seckman. It also mentions her daughter Kittie J. Seckman Schultz, wife of William, living in Nebraska and the mother of 12 children. You can go directly to the bio at this address:

I suggest visit Robin Peterson's Schuyler County welcome page at http://www.macomb.com/~ilschuyl/index.htm and email her directly about the two Schultzes listed in her index to the bios: John Schultz and H.C. Schultz. They are not typed in yet and she can look them up for you. Maybe they will lead you to more information on the origins of William Schultz.

I also recommend you send for the marriage certificate for Kathryn Seckman and William Schultz from the Brown County Clerk, if you haven't already done so. Their address is on our Brown County website.
