Death of Mrs. Barton
Lucy Jane Barton, wife of James Barton died at her home near Cooperstown Tuesday of heart trouble after an illness extending over a period of five weeks.
Deceased was born in this county near Ripley in 1838. Her maiden name was Alexander and she was twice married. Her first husband was Miles Murphy. Mrs. Barton leaves besides her husband, three sons and two daughters, three brothers and two sisters, to mourn her loss. The funeral services were held Wednesday at Cooperstown, Rev. Elihu Parks conducting the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Cooperstown cemetery.
