Augustin Orr was born in Tennessee Oct 27,1810, died November 18, 1896 according to family. My great-grandmother was Elizabeth B. Miler was born May 13, 1813 in Tennessee died October 03, 1895 according to family, a daughter of John Miler by a first marriage. Elizabeth Miler and Augustin Orr were married in Morgan County, IL. July 15,1829, they had nine children *** Harrison Orr * Thomas Orr * Martha M. Orr * Emherson Orr * William David Orr * Sarah M. Orr * John Orr * James Orr * Charles Franklin Orr. Have information on the children. Augustin and Elizabeth were on the State Census in 1835 for Morgan County, the 1840 census for Macoupin County, 1850.1860,1870 in Cumberland county. Family says they died in Cumberland County but I can’t find them.

Augustin had brothers in Brown County – Alexander, Calvin, Jesse, David, maybe Green Berry. Also son John lived in Brown County for a time. Apparently their father was born in Virginia and their mother in South Carolina.

James Brown married Martha Stephens/Stevens in March of 1823 in what is now Davidson Co., NC, They were born abt 1801-06 in Lick Creek and/or Flat Swamp, NC areas.

Martha’s parents were Alexander Stephens, her mother was Mary Dailey/Dagley. Her grandfather was Richard Stephens, married to Martha Robards/Roberts.

In the 1830’s Martha and James moved their family to Brown County, Illinois, where both James’ and Martha’s brothers were both living. James’ brother (name unknown) was also married to a Stephens girl, I believe, because Martha’s brother, Alexander Stephens, lived near to James’ brother in Brown Co., Ill. This, according to stories from descendants of both families.

Martha died in Beverly, Adams Co., Illinois on 28 Sep 1840.

Any help offered would be very much appreciated.

William Aulgur and family moved to Brown Co. from Russell Co. Ky abt. 1843. William died at Mt. Sterling in 1851 of cholera, buried in Mt. Sterling Cemetery. Is there any record of the burial plot location? Annie Drew may have married James Richard Hendrix abt. 1895 at Mt. Sterling and they may have had a son. I believe they divorced prior to 1900. Any and all information is greatly appreciated.

I am researching John ORR and Telithia COTTON. Telithia was born September 13, 1776 in Hertford County, North Carolina. She married John Orr from VA. on March 21, 1800, in Sumner County, Tennessee. Telithia and John Orr came to Schuyler/Brown County in 1830 or 1831 and settled just South of Cooperstown.

John ORR is a brother to Green Berry ORR who came to Schuyler/Brown County the winter of 1830-1831. Their father John ORR married Frances (?), he died in 1814, in Sumner County, TN.

John ORR supposedly died in Brown County around 1839-40. I am told that Telithia ‘Cotton’ Orr died at Versailles in 1845.

The children of John and Telithia ORR, who lived and married in the Cooperstown/ Versailles area, were (1) Henry C., (2) Alexander, (3) Calvin, (4) Jesse W., and a fifth child, a daughter who’s name is unknown.. Alexander their son lived and died in Cooperstown! If anyone has any knowledge of John and Telithia ORR, please! let me know, she was my gg-grandmother.

I am researching The SEAHORN / SEEHORN Family. They lived in Fulton Co. according to the 1850 Census. But are not in the 1860 or 1870 Census there. Thomas SEAHORN / SEEHORN (head of household) died in 1852 in Fulton Co. His wife Fannie (Francis) probably remarried and possibly moved to Brown Co. His youngest daughter Almira (Almyra) married James Logsdon of Brown Co. son of George and Sally McKENSIELOGSDON @1865 Some of the names and ages of siblings of Almira’s that possibly would have been living in the same household as Fannie and Almira in 1860 would be Rachel (14), Elizabeth (16), Maria (18), Harvey (24) and Polly (26). Obviously some of these would have married and moved out by this time. Fannie was born in KY Polly was born in IN and all the rest of the children were born in IL.

Wilbur Wesley Rogers, son of Orville Rogers and Addie Short Rogers, was born in Buckhorn, Brown Co., IL May 18, 1887. Wilbur was the second-born child of Orville & Addie, but the first, a girl, died at birth or in infancy. The other children, some of whom may also have been born in Buckhorn, are: Edith, Beulah, Faye, Arthur Paul, Hugh and John. Orville was a minister in what is now the United Methodist Church. Orville was probably in his 20s when Wilbur was born and may not have been a senior pastor of the church he served there in Brown Co. I would very much appreciate any information on this family.
