Giddings, Austin R.
Died, at his home in Pea Ridge township 6 am Saturday, age about 62 years. Sick several months with consumption. Father of several children some of whom together with his wife greeted him to the other shore. Surviving is one son and one daughter.

Giddings, Austin Reed
Died of consumption at his home in Pea Ridge, Brown County at 6 am June 13th 1886, Austin Reed Giddings, named in honor of his uncle Hon. J. R. Giddings of Ohio. He was born in Trumbull County Ohio Sept 4, 1824. Came to Illinois with his parents in 1835 and married Catherine Aletha Keller July 6, 1849 who died of cancer Sept. 4, 1884. Had eight children, Maria A. Cannon, Emma R. who died of consumption March 28, 1873, Zula E. Ratcliff, Mary A. McPherson, Cassie P. Hermetet, died of consumption June 10, 1880, Charley E., drowned June 13, 1880 and Grant, younger son still at home. Services by Rev. J. Crawford and Daniel S Shank. United with Christian Church last winter.
